Major Moscow's Assaults Cut Power Across Kyiv

Power facilities under attack in the region
The country's energy systems have come under increased attacks in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have led to blackouts in multiple districts of the capital city, Kyiv.

Nine people were wounded while local people in eastern districts were left without electricity and encountered disruption to water supplies, according to municipal leaders.

At the same time, a seven-year-old child was killed in a different assault in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, according to local officials.

Moscow has escalated strikes on energy facilities over recent weeks, while officials has demanded "substantial measures" from international partners to increase pressure on Moscow.

"What's needed is not superficial actions but decisive action - from the US, Europe and the Group of Seven - in providing defensive weapons and applying penalties," he wrote in a public message.

Officials stated that 450 drones and over thirty projectiles attacked energy facilities, labeling such attacks as "premeditated" and against "essential services" as winter approaches.

Government representatives said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and technical staff were working to repair systems.

A wave of strikes hit electrical systems and apartment buildings in the capital.

Five out of the nine people hurt in the attacks on the city have been transported for medical care, as confirmed by city authorities.

Area administrators said the metropolitan region came under intense attacks throughout the evening. A minor was killed and three other people were wounded.

The assaults succeed evenings of bombing campaigns in the territory, parts of which are occupied by Russian forces.

The entire country is on alert for advanced weapon attacks, which are tougher to spot.

National leaders told the media that Russia was deliberately attempting to destroy the electrical infrastructure, with assaults already disrupting energy systems.

Officials stated technical personnel and officials were bracing for further attacks.
